CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Online Marketing company with regional offices in Larnaca, we are seeking to recruit a Ruby on Rails Developer to join their team of professionals.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Responsible to maintain, improve and extend our online gaming websites.
- Work with the team to design and develop software to meet given requirements.
- Assist other members of the team with any queries or troubleshooting.
- Perform peer code-reviews.
- Assist in the upkeep, recovery and maintenance of running services.
- Work in maintaining existing codebase.
- Contribute to the team’s continuous improvement efforts.
Key Skills/Experience:
- University degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years’ of software development experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming.
- Exposure in agile software development frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
- Proficiency with RDBMS (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL etc).
- Working knowledge of Linux systems.
- Working knowledge of source control systems (preferably Git).
- Willingness and passion for learning.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Experience of other Ruby-based technologies besides Rails (e.g. Sinatra, Goliath) would be considered an advantage.
- Experience with other backend language will be considered (e.g. Python, Java, C#.NET) would be considered an advantage.
- Experience with frontend web development would be considered an advantage.
- NoSQL exposure (e.g. MongoDB, ArangoDB etc) would be considered an advantage.
- Exposure to online gaming sector would be considered an advantage.
- Exposure to payment processing services/gateways would be considered an advantage.
- BDD, Rspec, Cucumber exposure would be considered an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Docker containers for local development would be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and message queuing mechanisms (preferably Apache Kafka) would be considered an advantage.
- Exposure to Ansible software provisioning tool would be considered an advantage.
